Living Authentically
To Live Authentically is life’s greatest Liberation
In a world that is filled with so much information, so many demands, and so many directions, we may find ourselves stretching to meet all these worldly demands, and doing life in a way in which this world has presented is proper, true and correct. This is what individuals work hard to portray, a ” keeping up with the Jones” or giving weight to “appearances ” Â and importance of the current worldly ways. This can bring feelings of being frazzled, feeling depleted, not enough, and inauthentic.
But the current world calls for titles or labels, to define who we are, and what we do. Oftentimes these titles and labels can feel restricting, similar to climbing an organizational structure which seeks to “pigeon hole” the identity of a person, based on what their title or label is.
It was about 10 years ago, when started to fight with the idea and meaning of titles and labels, and how they mean so much to get us where we want to go. Whether it be a new job, a new career, or meeting new people. I found that labels weren’t satisfying me, and were not as important to me, as they were for others. It seems that labels, names or titles, Â cast a person into their “place” in the world. Â I fell into the trap too. Of having to label myself, what I was doing.. I have lived a life of being labeled, not just in the working world, and corporate structures, but also in my personal life.
Just as many, I have been labeled or judged everyday for who I am, what I look like or what I do. Some people just show up with labels that society gives them. Â Perhaps these are labels given to you that you don’t feel you need, want, or deserved. Perhaps in the world of pointing fingers and giving people names, labels or titles, is because they are different than you, or don’t show up the way you think they should.
Having experienced this dilemma most of my life, has provided me with the opportunity for inner reflection about why this limited thinking bothered me so much. I deepened my study of human behavior to really grasp why people behave in such a way to create separation, rather than integration.
I came to understand our true identity has nothing to do with the labels, names or  titles people put upon us. Labels and titles are for people to use to create separation. yes, it is a good idea to know ones frame of reference. Labels and titles do provide “a place” holder in society of what you do, and what arena you play in. Yes, there can be a sense of accomplishment in reaching a goal, such as getting a promotion or a degree, and that accomplishment, is the feeling one gets, on the inside.. while the title on receives is what the world sees, on the outside.
The older I get, the more labels I accumulated. I became overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up with all the labeling that society demanded from me and that I demanded of myself. I had always felt  an imposition of needing a title for one reason or another. Updating my resume became a bit frantic, unimportant and meaningless. It became just titles, but society demanded it. It was just labels, in which none of them on my resume mattered.
The title of Mother never fit on a resume, however, it has been the most important role I have held. Today’s world does not honor all aspects of self, and what roles we play and how we show up for others. Societal labels exist to put people in their place, labels which seek to cut off the portion of us, our inner being.
When I got to this point, where nothing on my resume mattered to me anymore, my inner authentic self was getting crushed with all the labeling required and given by society. The labels, which limited the true being of who I am.
As humanity raises their consciousness, and moves into the future, we find that our Authentic Self, our true nature, takes a priority. Our true identity. It is, not only where our Mind is but also our Heart and Soul. Our Authentic Self yearns for its wholeness of being.
Back when realized I limited myself with the pigeon holed labels society beckons, it was because, I AM many.. Our human abilities range far beyond any titles on a resume. Living Authentically is understanding that, about yourself, and living in your wholeness.
Society as a whole, is shifting too, as we see more and more multifaceted individuals stepping up and expressing their true nature into all that they do. As Human Awareness expands, individuals see the importance of embracing all aspects of self in all we do.. Many people are creating lifestyles which  integrate their work as part of all they do, providing balance for all they truly are.
Individuals are recognizing the importance of understanding their own wholeness in such a fast paced demanding world. With this factor expanding, many human beings are embracing the many aspects of who they are and ALL they are, not just the outer self, labeled by a job they hold, but also the vast inner self, which brings ones God-Given gifts into this world.
As people embrace their individual wholeness, they will become limited by the beliefs and ideas of what is possible in life.
Although the world still give us labels, the wholeness of who I am is my true nature, my Authentic self. Making a decision to let go of the anxiety around labels and let go of the outer worldly demands for “pigeon holed” titles has been freeing, and allowed me to be ALL I CAN BE, Â Authentically Me.
