Grace

Vibrant autumn trees reflected in serene lake

by James Dillet Freeman

Through God and God only, can create

I till & I weed & I wait

And in the thicket of my thought

bloomed flowers that may never be wrought

I stand on wonder and behold

beauty I never sowed unfold

Visions of faith, insights of love,

truths that I had no forethought of

Somehow there is in me, yet more

than I myself might settle for

A faith that brings perfection out

Beyond my own powers, I have no doubt

One day, all unexpectedly

A rose shall bloom, the Christ within,

 in me.

The Grace Prayer

For thee I thirst

into thy hands,

I commit my spirit, my soul, my body, my life and any unforgiven states of mind.

Thy will is my will

Thy will be done through me

Heal at my depth

Reveal that which needs revealed

Heal that which needs healed

so I can glorify You, Oh God

& live in the fullness of Grace.

Holding this space as truth of your love & your light & your Grace, Oh mighty God

God as my Good, God as my Source
