God as Substance
God as Unlimited Substance
The truth is this: you are already living in the unlimited substance of God. Jesus walked the earth without wealth or material assets, yet he lived abundantly. Why? Because he was fully aware of God’s abundant universe. His prosperity came from the messages he received from Spirit and the way he shared them with others. This is true prosperity—not things, not jewels, not money, but well-being.
A Path of Gratitude.
When we live with gratitude, we shift into prosperity consciousness. And when we combine gratitude with the spiritual law of visualization, we open ourselves to creating the life we are called to live.
Unity Principles
Foundational principles of Unity, reminds us of these three essential truths:
- God is all that is—the infinite source and substance. God is Good and Omnipotent.
- We are children of God—and therefore, we are co-creators with God, and we are good.
- Thoughts held in mind produce after their kind—our imagination and visualization shape our reality.
Unexpected Blessings
Often, the blessings we discover were right in front of us all along—we simply needed to clear the fog from our vision.
Gratitude shifts our perception. Suddenly, when we approach life with gratitude, we recognize what seems to have been hidden: God’s truth, God’s source, God’s abundance—these are our unexpected blessings.
Blessings through Chaos
Sometimes blessings show up disguised as chaos.
A couple recently shared their story with me: their home required costly repairs, and they were forced to stay with family. At first, it felt like an inconvenience. But soon, they discovered the gift—precious time with their mother, who had been sick just months earlier.
Like a rainbow that only appears when we look through raindrops, blessings often require us to look through the storm and live in gratitude.
Prosperity Consciousness
Eric Butterworth’s classic Unity book, Spiritual Economics, reminds us that prosperity is a way of thinking.
When we focus on problems, they grow larger in our minds. But when we focus on solutions—and give thanks for them—we align with God’s abundance. Jesus modeled this by always choosing to focus on solutions, not limitations.
Ask yourself: What outcome do I wish to see?
Your answer reveals where your consciousness lies. Lack is not of God—it is only a state of mind. True prosperity comes when we alter our thinking and align with God’s abundant universe.
Gratitude & Authority Over Thought
We all face fear and worry. But we don’t have to accept them as truth.
One man was told by his doctor that he had only six months to live. Instead of giving in to fear, he chose to be grateful—for meals, for friends, for family. Five years later, he is still alive.
We always have the authority over our own thoughts. We get to choose what fills our mind—and with gratitude, we choose life.
Affirmations to claim God’s Substance:
- I clear my perspective with a grateful heart.
- My inner truth is centered in the awareness of God’s abundant universe.
God, thank you for giving us this time to connect with you and with each other. May our thoughts be centered in your abundant universe, and may we live each day with gratitude and vision. Amen.
