Embracing Transformation with Grace and Faith

“The only constant in life is change.”

We’ve all heard this before—but how often do we pause to really sit with that truth?

As I stood in front of a room full of kind faces, I asked, “How many of you are feeling change in your life right now?” Every hand went up. And really, how could they not? Its is a season of rebirth, of shaking off what no longer serves and stepping into something new. But even beyond the seasons, life itself is always in motion.

And that’s the thing about change: it’s rarely convenient. It disrupts. It rearranges. But it also invites us to grow.

Let’s face it—most of us don’t love change. We like our routines, our familiar rhythms. When something as small as a contractor working in the house disrupts your gym schedule, it’s uncomfortable. Multiply that by hurricanes, insurance claims, new regulations, and shifting community dynamics—and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

But my mother used to say: “The only constant in life is change.” That’s more than just a catchy phrase. It’s a spiritual truth. As much as we may want to stay in the safety of the known, we are meant to evolve.

In times of change, it’s easy to forget that we’re not alone. I often say this: when you wake up and hear that still small voice within, it’s God saying, “Good morning. I’ll be handling all your problems today.”

Faith reminds us we can surrender to the presence of God. All we need is the faith of a tiny mustard seed that’s all it takes to realign with the divine, to begin to trust in Gods Power and Presence in our life especially during times of change.

We can always ground ourselves in the Word. Take Isaiah 43:19:
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for God will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; He will never fail you or abandon you.

”

We are going to take a close look at Psalm 32:8:

“Seek God will in all you do, and God will show you which path to take. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”

Life is a series of decision points—small and large. Every “yes” or “no” takes us down a new road. Some decisions are simple (paper or plastic?), others are life-changing (do I sell the house, raise it, or rebuild?). When we’re unsure, it’s a sign to pause, breathe, and seek divine guidance.

It’s tempting to place our trust in institutions, people, even news sources. But Scripture doesn’t ask us to do that. It calls us to trust in God. That trust brings peace when nothing around us makes sense.

Our minds can only take us so far. We need our heart and soul in decision-making too. In Unity, we know that thoughts held in mind produce after their kind. So what reality are we choosing to co-create with our words, beliefs, and actions?

Remember, even during disruptions, we get the opportunity to turn around our perspective and see it as a divine invitation or redirection.

Whether it’s AI, new technology, new relationships, or new laws—change is happening now. We can resist it, or we can let it refine us. Growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone. God never meant for us to stay there forever.

Take a breath. Grab your shoulders. Tap your head. You’ve changed. You’ve made it this far. You’re not who you were at 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50… and you shouldn’t be.

You are evolving.

Think of yourself like a car:
– Your body is the chassis.
– Your mind is the computer.
– Your soul is the engine.
– Your heart is the oil that keeps it all flowing.

You can have the fanciest computer, but if the engine isn’t running—you’re going nowhere. When you turn the key and spark the soul, your heart churns in the experience of life, that’s when true movement in life begins. You are truly living life when all aspects work and run together.

So ask yourself: In life, are you turning the key all the way?

Change is inevitable, but suffering is a choice. With God at the center, change can become your teacher—not your enemy. You have the tools of faith, trust, and the truth of Unity. You are never alone on this journey. You can find your true power during times of change, and come to know the power of your strength, courage and endurance. You were truly built for this. Keep Going.
