Detachment with Love
Detachment is neither kind nor unkind. It does not imply judgement or condemnation of the person or situation from which we are detaching. Detachment helps us see our own situation realistically and objectively. Separating ourselves from the adverse effects of another persons problems may or may not require a physical separation, however it requires a focus on ones own life, vision and direction.
Attachment to a person or an outcome has its roots in fear, and a need to control or hold on to the familiar or the past. When you allow other people to be themselves, you become an excellent parent, boss, friend or lover. Detachment allows the universe to create a perfect result and its the key to happiness and well-being. —
Detachment allows us focus on our own life, and let go of any attachment with regards to a thing or a person. This detachment allows one to lead a happier and more manageable life, with dignity and rights, guided by a Power greater than ourselves. We can love a person without liking the behavior when we love with Detachment —-
The 12 Step program of Al Anon teaches the following:Â
-Not to suffer because of the actions or reactions of other people
-Not to allow ourselves to be used or abused by others
-Not to do for others what they can do for themselves
-Not to manipulate situations so others will  “behave as we see fit”
-Not to cover up for another’s mistakes
-Not to create a crisis
-Not to prevent a crisis if it is the natural course of events.
To Live the Golden Rule is universal, no matter what part of the world you are from.
“Do unto others as you would want done unto you”
